Seven steps to a smoother build
- Call Cory before your first model visit. Many builders require your agent to be with you on your first visit. Call or text Cory before you tour a model home.
- Compare communities. Look at lot premiums, HOA rules and fees, the school district for the specific lot, and how close each community is to the roads you use.
- Know what the base price includes. Ask for a written list of standard features and the price of each upgrade you care about. Upgrades can add up quickly.
- Read the builder contract. Builder contracts differ from resale contracts. Cory helps you understand deadlines, deposits and what is negotiable.
- Plan the timeline. Ask how long recent homes in the community actually took from contract to closing, and what happens if the date slips.
- Inspect independently. Independent inspections before drywall and before closing can catch problems early.
- Finish strong. Cory helps coordinate the punch list and the final walkthrough, and you get the warranty in writing.
